Theobromine = Gentle Stimulant
cacao as a coffee alternative
Ever heard of Theobromine? It's a natural stimulant found in cacao, that's very similar to caffeine.
Caffeine primarily affects the nervous system, hence the jittery feelings so many of us can feel if we've had too much coffee.
Whereas Theobromine primarily affects the cardiovascular system, and that's why they call cacao a 'heart opener'.
how to
make a hot cacao
We have two formats: block or grated
1. Block: Roughly chop the cacao block with a sharp knife
OR
Grated: Scoop out 2-3 tablespoons of grated cacao
2. Melt in hot liquid, like oat or coconut milk (or our fave is half oat milk / half water)
... Preferably heat in a saucepan, or velvitiser
3. Blend or whisk, so it gets super silky smooth / foamy.
This step makes all the difference!!

this is NOT cacao powder
With cacao powder they remove the cacao butter, but with our cacao we keep the cacao butter intact. This results in a creamier, richer, tastier cacao that retains the healthy fats.
