Recipe | Iced Cacao Drink

It's getting hot, hot, hot (well only kinda in Ireland). But either way, it's a good time to make be making iced cacaos! This is a simple recipe, but you can go extra fancy by adding other ingredients like a ready-made chai mix (here's one we made earlier). 

  • 20g nibbed cacao block (roughly chopped)
  • 180ml plant-milk of choice
  • 20ml hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • handful of ice-cubes
  • 1 teaspoon of maple syrup (or sweetener of choice) - add more to taste
blender method
  1. In the blender, melt the cacao in the small amount of hot water, stir to mix together 
  2. add the rest of the ingredients to blender
  3. blend until smooth
no-blender method
  1. In a glass, melt the cacao in the small amount of hot water, stir to mix together
  2. Add the cinnamon, vanilla + maple syrup and stir
  3. Add the ice, then pour the plant-milk over
