Recipe | Hot Cacao: Sweet or Dark

You can really do anything you want to make a hot cacao to your liking.

We love oat milk, but there are lots of other plant-milks out there. The same goes for spices and sweeteners. Some customers feel it needs sweetener, and others don't, it's totally based on your preference.

ingredients

For a slightly sweeter cacao:

  • 20g pure cacao (roughly 1/5 of the mini block or about a finger's width)
  • 1 cup of oat milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1-2 tsp of maple syrup

For a darker, richer cacao:

  • 20g pure cacao (roughly 1/5 of the mini block or about a finger's width)
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of oat milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

You can choose to make your hot cacao in a saucepan or pot, or in a blender like a nutri-bullet. One thing we really do suggest is to make sure you blend/ whisk it well so it emulsifies nicely.

method

in a saucepan:

  1. Put all ingredients into saucepan
  2. Heat a medium heat, don’t let it boil
  3. Whisk well, or use a stick blender, to froth/ foam up
  4. Pour and enjoy

in a blender:

  1. Heat up your liquid til it’s hot but not boiling
  2. Put all ingredients into blender
  3. Whizz up for 5 seconds
  4. Pour and enjoy
